“Sins of Our Father” does a fantastic job of bringing the audience along an emotional journey — from the palpable sense of forboding in its opening scene, to the surprise and humor and its closing one.

In this episode:

  • Begins “November 5th 7:38pm” – Steven watches a news report of the night everything happened
  • In a flashback, Steven’s son says, “Bye daddy … I’m going outside … it’s safe for me, daddy.”
  • The reflection of a cro
  • The story jumps “100 years and 68 hours later”
  • Steven is woken up by two men who say, “Father Steve, Let’s do this.”
  • Steven is seen laying in bed with Michelle
  • We learn that Steven used be a priest
  • The two men want Steven to open the pizza shop

This episode gets credit for three things: the sense of dread, the revelation (pun intended) about Father Steven, and the humor of Steven’s two “friends” who just want a slice of pizza before they go off with something better to do. This is a highly entertaining installment which also manages to provide some important backstory for the main character.
